Woman-founded VIDA brings its third community-first coworking model to Slabtown, a historic NW Portland neighborhood long underserved by coworking spaces

PORTLAND — Sept 22, 2026 — VIDA, the coworking community that brings together beautiful workspaces, curated amenities, and family support, is proud to announce it will be opening its third location this October in Montgomery Park. Located at 2701 NW Vaughn Street, Suite 770, in Portland’s Slabtown neighborhood, the new 10,000-square-foot space will offer 20 private offices, 20 dedicated desks, and flex coworking memberships, along with amenities like a fitness studio, six conference rooms, and bike storage. The same offerings members already know and love from VIDA’s Northeast Portland and Beaverton locations.

“Montgomery Park sits in Slabtown, a neighborhood that’s grown into one of the city’s most active pockets for small businesses, startups, and independent professionals, but it’s been underserved when it comes to dedicated coworking space,” said Melanie Marconi, founder and CEO of VIDA. “VIDA’s expansion brings our community-first model, honed over seven years in Portland and Beaverton, to workers who’ve had to commute across the city, or work from home, for a space like this.”

Marconi launched VIDA in 2019 out of the former Jantzen Swimwear Building in Northeast Portland, and opened the company’s second location in Beaverton four years later. She’d been eyeing a third Portland-area location for the last couple of years, with Montgomery Park on her radar the whole time.

In the seven years since, VIDA has grown to 350 members across its two locations, with a 97% member retention rate. The company reached profitability and crossed $1 million in annual sales in 2024.

“After the building was purchased by Menashe Properties, it felt like the right time to move in there,” Marconi said. “And we know we have some room to grow in the Portland market; there’s only one other coworking space in that neighborhood, so I think ours just adds a nice local option.”

Originally constructed as Montgomery Ward’s department store in 1921, Montgomery Park has been a Portland landmark ever since, with sweeping views of the Portland skyline, the West Hills, and the Willamette River. One of the largest office buildings in the city, it was purchased by Menashe Properties in 2024 for $33 million. Since then, the ownership team has renovated the historic building, including a new fitness center, updated interiors, and move-in-ready spec suites to attract new tenants, VIDA among them.
