Don’t Miss These Summer Events in Portland & Beaverton

Summer in the Portland metro is genuinely something special. The sun finally arrives, the patios fill up, the farmers markets peak, and the events calendar starts looking almost impossible to keep up with. Whether you’re based in Portland or Beaverton — or working out of VIDA Coworking in both — there’s no shortage of ways to make the most of the season.

We’ve rounded up the best summer happenings across both cities so you can plan your weekends (and yes, maybe sneak out a little early on a Friday or two).

June Portland & Beaverton Events

Portland Summer Free For All Portland Parks & Recreation is back with its beloved Summer Free For All program, kicking off citywide on July 8 with free live music, cultural performances, and movies. But the fun actually starts in June — the Free Lunch + Play program launches June 22 at parks across Portland, offering free meals for anyone 18 and under through August 21. Outdoor pools also open June 18. It’s one of the best (and most accessible) ways to enjoy the city all summer long.

Chamber Music Northwest Summer Festival If your summer playlist leans more Dvořák than pop punk, Chamber Music Northwest’s 54th Summer Festival is for you. Kicking off June 30 with a free community concert at the University of Portland, the festival runs through July with performances at Reed College, The Old Church, and PSU — featuring world-class musicians, jazz nights, and special events. Many performances are free or affordable.

Beaverton Pride in the Park Pride season extends beyond Portland city limits! Beaverton Pride in the Park is June 28 — a community celebration that’s welcoming, free, and a great way to kick off summer with your neighbors.

July Portland & Beaverton Events

Waterfront Blues FestivalJuly 4th Weekend It wouldn’t be a Portland summer without the Waterfront Blues Festival. One of the largest blues festivals on the West Coast, this annual July 4th weekend tradition takes over Tom McCall Waterfront Park with 100+ acts across multiple stages. It also doubles as a fundraiser for the Oregon Food Bank — bring a canned food donation for discounted admission. Stay for the fireworks over the Willamette on the 4th. If you’re working out of VIDA Portland, you’re just a short walk from the action.

Cathedral Park Jazz FestivalJuly 17–19 The 46th Annual Cathedral Park Jazz Festival is one of Portland’s most beloved free events. Three days of jazz, blues, and Black diasporic music set beneath the stunning St. Johns Bridge — it’s the longest-running free jazz festival in the country. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, and settle in for something truly special. Hours run 4:30–10 p.m. Friday and 1–9:30 p.m. Saturday and 1–8 p.m. Sunday. Free to attend, all ages welcome.

Portland Pride FestivalJuly 18–19 One of the biggest and most joyful events on Portland’s summer calendar, Portland Pride Festival and Parade returns to Tom McCall Waterfront Park July 18–19. Expect a vibrant parade, live music, food, drinks, and the full beautiful spectrum of Portland’s community showing up and showing out.

Downtown Sounds — Beaverton’s New Summer Music SeriesEvery Friday night starting July 6. The Beaverton Downtown Association is launching something brand new this summer: Downtown Sounds, a weekly live music series bringing local flavor to the heart of downtown Beaverton on Friday nights. This is a great excuse to explore Downtown Beaverton before or after your workday, especially if you’re a VIDA Beaverton member.

August Portland & Beaverton Events

Beaverton Music FestivalAugust 15 Free admission, multiple genres, live performances all day — the Beaverton Music Festival is one of the most fun community events of the summer. Rock, soul, Latin, country and more take over the stage at Griffith Park on August 15. It’s the kind of neighborhood event that reminds you why the Beaverton community is so great.

Beaverton Night MarketAugust The Beaverton Night Market is one of Oregon’s most unique cultural events — a vibrant, intercultural, family-friendly gathering inspired by night markets from around the world. With hundreds of vendors, multicultural food, crafts, performances, and community activities, it consistently draws thousands of visitors each year. Keep an eye on the City of Beaverton’s website for the 2026 date, as it’s typically held in August at The Round in Beaverton.

PDX Pop Now! FestivalAugust 7–9 PDX Pop Now! is a fiercely independent celebration of Portland’s local music scene, featuring emerging and established artists across multiple stages. It’s always a reminder of just how deep the Portland music community runs.

All Summer Long in Portland & Beaverton

Beaverton Farmers Market The Beaverton Farmers Market is the single largest all-agricultural market in Oregon, and summer is when it really shines. Running Saturdays 8:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. through November 21 (located across from the Beaverton City Library on SW Hall Blvd), the market peaks at over 130 vendors and draws 15,000–20,000 visitors on any given summer Saturday. Fresh produce, artisan food, live music, and Market Sprouts activities for kids make it a full morning event.

Portland Saturday Market Running every weekend through the summer at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, Portland Saturday Market is the largest continuously operating open-air craft market in the country — 250+ local artisans, food vendors, and makers. It’s one of those Portland classics you never get tired of.

Last Thursday on Alberta Street Every last Thursday of the month (May through September), Alberta Street transforms into Portland’s best free street party — art installations, food carts, live music, and thousands of your neighbors out enjoying the warm evenings. Low-key, eclectic, and quintessentially Portland.

Fitness in the Park Portland Parks & Recreation brings back free outdoor group fitness classes all summer long for anyone 14+. A great way to squeeze in movement on your lunch break or after work — no gym membership required.

Go Berry Picking Oregon summers and berry picking go hand in hand, and there are fantastic u-pick farms within easy reach of both Portland and Beaverton. Look for Hood strawberries in June, then blueberries, marionberries, raspberries, and blackberries through July and August. Sauvie Island’s Bella Organic Farm (16205 NW Gillihan Rd., Portland) is a beloved no-spray, regenerative farm with strawberries, blueberries, marionberries, blackberries, and boysenberries. Red Berry Barn in Sherwood (19200 SW Chapman Rd.) is another favorite, with a well-stocked country store on site. PDX Parent has a great round-up of u-pick berry farms near Portland with a full map — bookmark it now. Pro tip: always check the farm’s website or social media before you go, as field conditions change daily.

Catch a Portland Thorns Match The Portland Thorns are back at Providence Park all summer, and VIDA members have access to our season ticket seats — just another perk of being part of the community. The Thorns have summer home games in July and August, including a home match against Denver Summit FC on August 22. The Thorns are the winningest club in NWSL history and one of the best live sports experiences in the city — the atmosphere at Providence Park is genuinely electric. Check with the VIDA team to claim your tickets for an upcoming game!
