Spring into a new season with these budding events.

Signs of spring are popping up all over Portland, Oregon, right now: beautiful blooms, greener grass and, of course, those April showers. We’re sure you agree with us here at VIDA Coworking that we’re officially ready to live that springtime lifestyle.

So let’s all get outside (even if an umbrella is needed) and head to Portland’s upcoming events and activities! In fact, here are our favorite Portland springtime activities for April, May and June.

Portland Events April 2023

Stroll Through Tom McCall Waterfront Park

The Japanese American Historical Plaza in Tom McCall Waterfront Park comes alive in April with 100 beautiful, blossoming cherry trees. Take a friend, a date or your family on a walk through the park to glimpse every blooming bud.

Attend the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival

Take your furry friends on a stroll through the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm now through May 7 to see the rows and rows of bright tulips. A family-friendly event, the Tulip Festival has a “cow ride” through the fields, and rubber duck and pony rides. Flower lovers and avid gardeners can purchase fresh-cut flowers, potted tulips and bulbs for planting.

Exercise for Mother’s Day

Celebrate Mother’s Day with some heart-pumping self-care at two female-focused events. On May 13, run the Hippie Chick Half Marathon race with your mom, aunt, friend or sister at Champoeg State Park. On May 14, enjoy a more leisurely walk during the Reigning Roses Walk at Castaway Portland.

Savor Oregon Wine Month

What better way to celebrate the changing seasons than with some refreshing vino? May is wine month in Oregon, and so there are various special wine-focused activities in honor of Willamette Valley wine. Here are just some of the events you can check out:

  • Bingo & Wine
  • Big Red Fest
  • 2023 Oregon Feast Dinner
  • Mother’s Day Tastings
  • Roam the Rogue

Join Endless Entertainment at the Portland Rose Festival

From May 26 through June 11, Portlanders can take part in the city’s many Rose Festival events. The entire festival kicks off with fireworks at Tom McCall Waterfront Park. Throughout these two weeks, residents and tourists alike can expect a treasure hunt, art show, contest, high tea, dragon boat races, fun runs, carnival rides and so much more.

Portland’s springtime is full of local markets: nighttime markets, farmers’ markets, craft fairs and so much more. Check out the following markets this June:

Be Dazzled at the Water Lantern Festival

Now this event is a magical sight: Head to Laurelhurst Park on June 17 to light a floating lantern and watch it and thousands of others soar through the night sky during the Water Lantern Festival

Marvel at the Festival of Balloons

Grab a picnic and a seat at Cook Park from June 23 through 25 to gaze upon hot-air balloons lift off and fly through the sky at the Tigard Festival of Balloons. Attendees will marvel at the bright colors as they float through the air, play carnival games, nosh on food from local vendors and shop craft booths.
