Podcasts are a way of life here at VIDA Coworking. We make ‘em and we play ‘em on a daily basis. And we’re not alone. According to PodcastHosting.org, 16 million people in the US are “avid podcast fans.” That’s a testament to the amazing content out there – a whopping 47 million episodes to be exact.

The VIDA team and our Members have fallen in love with podcasting as a way to escape, be inspired and sharpen our skills. Due to that podcast affinity, we started our own and built a podcast studio to produce not only VIDA’s but also those of our Members as well as Portland locals.

VIDA’s Make Life/Work Podcast for Women

In 2019, we launched our Make Life/Work podcast for women, hosted by VIDA Coworking’s founder, Melanie Marconi. Every week, she invites a new guest – such as an entrepreneur or corporate executive – to share his or her reality juggling career and family life. These interviews highlight how all working parents struggle from time to time (or…let’s be real…sometimes daily!). More importantly, each 30-minute episode highlights what each guest learned through their struggles and triumphs.

We focus our podcast on these honest conversations because growing a business and a family is no joke. We aim to normalize the fact that everyone needs help juggling life and that it’s okay to experience those inevitable lows. In fact, those lows make the highs even sweeter.

With the right support, life hacks, tools and diligence, finding a work-life balance is completely possible. That’s what we tap into during Make/Life Work Podcast.

VIDA’s Podcast Studio in Portland, Oregon

VIDA Coworking has its own professional-grade podcast studio in Portland. It’s equipped with three microphones, soundproofing and a Behringer audio mixer – every piece of equipment needed to produce a top-quality program. Plus, the studio has space for two socially distanced people.

Melanie uses this studio to produce Make Life/Work, and VIDA Members can reserve it any time. Before the pandemic, we also rented it out to Portland locals and hope to re-welcome them later in 2021.

After the content is recorded, the VIDA team can help edit the audio to create the perfect podcast.

To reserve our recording studio, Members can log into their Community Management System or email hello@vidacoworking.com to make a reservation.
