Big news, everybody! VIDA has finally found a home.

Earlier this week, we signed a lease on an amazing space in Northeast Portland and we couldn’t be more excited. There’s still tons of work to be done to transform the space into the cheerful, welcoming, light-filled workspace we envision, but one thing about it’s already perfect: the neighborhood.

We’ll be located in the heart of inner Northeast in the bustling Kerns neighborhood, just off the intersection of 19th and Sandy. It’s easy to get to from almost anywhere, and it boasts a thriving commercial district and a contagious creative spirit. We love its walkable parks, hip local restaurants, adorable wine bars, and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy together. Here’s what we’re most excited about near our new digs.

The Circuit Bouldering Gym

Ready to take your drive to reach the top to a whole new context? The Circuit Bouldering Gym is your chance to stretch your muscles, strengthen your core, and try something new. From beginner classes for those of us whose climbing experience ended on the jungle gym, to advanced clinics for serious athletes, there’s something for all levels of experience here.

Providore Fine Foods

For anybody who’s ever mourned the loss of Hawthorne’s Pastaworks, Providore is your answer. Your one-stop shop for grass fed meats, local seafood, high-end groceries, a curated selection of wines, picture-perfect produce, chocolate bars that could double as objects d’arte, and a truly dazzling array of imported cheeses, Providore Fine Foods is the kind of place that makes grocery shopping feel like a trip to the spa.

The Ocean

From over-the-top burgers to vegan Indian food, this hip indoor/outdoor food court is the perfect answer for that group outing where everybody feels like eating something different. Six different restaurants serve tasty grub from quick-service counters. Diners can hang out at an expansive outdoor patio (including a covered and heated section), or post up at tables or counters inside each mini-sized restaurant.

Pairings Portland

Have you ever wondered what wine goes best with late-night Game of Thrones binges? How about turning 40, or the color green? At Pairings Portland, the pairing concept gets taken to its logical extreme with sometimes insightful, sometimes hilarious pairing suggestions. Every display is organized by a different theme, from what’s on the menu to your astrological sign.

Oregon Children’s Theater

Founded in 1988, Oregon Children’s Theater dishes up kid-centric theater that adults can love too. We love how OCT designs experiences for all ages, from sing-along shows for little ones, to challenging performances that grapple with real issues teens face. Plus, classes and workshops get your budding thespian out of the audience and onto the stage.

We think one of the best things about living in Portland is the distinctive personality of each neighborhood. We can’t wait to get to know this awesome corner of our beautiful city even better in the months and years to come.
