We’ve always felt like the end of the year inspires a special mix of nostalgia and anticipation, but this year, we’re definitely skewing towards the anticipation end of that spectrum.

Over the last several months, we’ve been busy turning our vision for the perfect work and life community into reality. From wallpaper selection to lease negotiations, the contours of VIDA are finally starting to take shape, and we couldn’t be more excited.

We are making progress in anticipation of a May 1 opening, and the next few weeks should bring some big announcements. In the meantime, here’s what we’re looking forward to in 2019—and we’d love for you to join us.

Peaceful, Productive Space

We can’t get too specific just yet, but we can say that we’re in late-stage lease negotiations for a fabulous space on Portland’s eastside. It has 15 private offices and space for 20 dedicated desks, plus many more spots for open seating. We think it will be just the right size for cultivating a dynamic community without feeling anonymous or over-crowded. In other words, we want you to know your neighbors’ names, personalities, and, hopefully, favorite spots to grab a coffee or after-work cocktail.

A Different Look and Feel

Call us crazy, but we see no reason a coworking space needs to look like a hotel lobby. We’ve put serious energy into making sure that VIDA is designed to be different, with a fresh contemporary style and feminine touches that make it feel a little more like home. Our designer Kami Gray of Kay Gray Interiors describes it as “Where comfort meets luxury — a space that inspires creativity, innovation, and relationship building.”

Next-Level Perks and Amenities

If the tech industry has taught us anything, it’s that workplaces are so much more than a desk and a chair. While we confess that ping pong tables have never moved us, we’re thrilled to get the chance to show off a thoughtful suite of amenities that make being at work more fun, more comfortable, and more sustainable. Think abundant natural light, healthy snacks and kombucha on tap, onsite fitness and wellness classes, and a lactation room that’s actually pleasant to be in.

Oh, and we’re super stoked to have just put down a deposit on a Peloton bike as well as the brand-new Peloton treadmill—ours could be one of the very first to ship to Portland. Take that, sitting culture.

Tantalized? Tempted? Curious to see how your business could thrive in a supportive community of other women entrepreneurs? Our waiting list is open now. We won’t ask for a deposit until we’ve unveiled our location and we’re in the home stretch before opening.

Love,

VIDA
