We know that the upcoming Portland Association of Teachers Strike will impact VIDA Members who have kids within Portland Public School (PPS). As always, we are here to help!

VIDA Coworking offers amenities and perks you won’t find elsewhere. Onsite childcare is no exception. As a coworking space designed for parents, VIDA launched its VIDA School program during the pandemic — combining coworking and childcare so life is more efficient and seamless for our Members.
With the pending PPS school closures due to the Strike, we are preparing to reboot the VIDA School program to help Make Life/Work for our member community and families.

VIDA School Details & Features
- VIDA School is an educational + play program for children in the first through sixth grade.
- It will be open throughout the strike period on Mondays-Thursdays from 9:30-2:30pm (except for Thanksgiving Day), with a tentative start date of November 1 (or on the first day of school closures).
- VIDA School will be offered at the VIDA Beaverton location: 9400 SW Beaverton Hillsdale Highway. Members at the Portland location will be given workspace at Beaverton if desired.
- Students must bring their school laptops, headphones, water bottles, two snacks and a lunch (no peanuts).
- The VIDA School program is led by Caitlin Crocker, former early learning care provider and Director of the 2020-2021 pandemic program.
Daily Schedule
9:30am – 10:00am: Arrivals and independent play/work
10:00am – 10:15am: Check-in, review the day, team commitments + snack
10:15am – 11:15am: Schoolwork & Learning – PPS Computer Programs, Worksheets, Kahn Academy, Outschool
11:15am – 12:15pm: Outdoor Time at Neighborhood Park
12:15pm – 12:45pm: Group Lunch
12:45pm – 1:30pm: Science/Art/Music Activity
1:30pm – 2:30pm: Snack & Open Play
COVID Consciousness
VIDA School was created to be helpful, affordable and considerate of the social and emotional health of children. This includes protocols to protect children from COVID. Main spaces will feature HEPA filter air purifiers, we will use hand sanitizer and hand washing protocols throughout the day, and surfaces will be cleaned regularly.
VIDA School Cost
VIDA School costs $50/day or $175 per week per child. You must be a VIDA Member or referred by a VIDA Member to participate.
